Service & Website Terms

EZ Appliances Repairs Terms & Conditions

These terms explain how bookings, quotations, repairs, payments, parts, guarantees and use of our website are handled when you use EZ Appliances Repairs.

Please read these terms before booking a repair.

These Terms & Conditions apply to services supplied by EZ Appliances Repairs, including inspections, call-outs, diagnostics, quotations, repairs, servicing, replacement parts and related website enquiries.

01

Acceptance of Terms

By booking, authorising or accepting a repair or service from EZ Appliances Repairs, you agree to these Terms & Conditions together with any quotation, invoice, job card or other written terms relating specifically to your repair.

Where specific written terms are included in a quotation or job card for a particular repair, those terms apply to that job together with these general Terms & Conditions.

02

Booking & Access

Customers must provide accurate contact details, the service address and sufficient information about the appliance or equipment requiring attention.

  • The appliance or equipment must be reasonably accessible to the technician.
  • A responsible person should be available to provide access where required.
  • Customers should advise us beforehand of any known safety, electrical, gas, water or access concerns.
  • Appointment times may be affected by traffic, previous repairs, parts availability or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
03

Diagnosis, Estimates & Quotations

Our technician may need to inspect, test or partially disassemble an appliance or component in order to identify the fault and prepare an appropriate repair quotation.

Where a call-out, inspection, diagnostic or estimate fee applies, the applicable charge will be communicated before the relevant work is undertaken.

Repair work exceeding an approved quotation will not proceed without informing the customer of the additional estimated cost and obtaining further authorisation where required.

Call-out policy: where our advertised offer states that the call-out fee is waived when the repair quotation is accepted, the applicable call-out or diagnostic fee remains payable if the quotation is declined, subject to the terms communicated when booking.
04

Repair Authorisation

Repair work begins after the customer accepts the quotation or otherwise authorises the work.

Acceptance may be provided in writing, electronically, by WhatsApp, email or another recorded method where appropriate.

If additional faults or required parts are discovered during the repair, we may pause work and request approval before continuing where the additional work changes the agreed cost or repair scope.

05

Replacement Parts

Replacement parts may be original manufacturer parts, OEM-equivalent, compatible, reconditioned or other appropriate quality parts depending on availability, appliance age and the quotation accepted by the customer.

Where a particular part must be ordered, the estimated repair time may depend on supplier availability, delivery times and manufacturer stock.

Customer-supplied parts are not covered against defects by EZ Appliances Repairs. Our responsibility for installation workmanship remains subject to applicable law and any written warranty provided for that work.

Removed parts may be returned to the customer where required by applicable law, unless the customer declines them or they must be returned or disposed of for warranty, insurance, environmental or safety reasons.
06

Deposits & Payment

Where a deposit or advance payment is required for parts, special orders or repair work, the amount will be stated in the quotation or communicated before payment is requested.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, outstanding amounts become payable when the authorised repair or service has been completed.

Customers should use the invoice or quotation reference when making payment where one has been supplied.

07

Repair Guarantee

Where EZ Appliances Repairs provides a written 6-month parts and workmanship guarantee, that guarantee applies to the specific parts supplied and workmanship performed for the stated repair.

The guarantee does not automatically extend to unrelated components, new faults or failures that were not part of the original repair.

The guarantee may not apply where a failure results from:

  • misuse, abuse or operation contrary to manufacturer instructions;
  • unauthorised repair, alteration or tampering after our repair;
  • normal wear and tear or consumable items;
  • an unrelated component or a separate new fault;
  • external electrical supply faults, surges, water supply problems or environmental conditions;
  • rust, corrosion, pests, accidental damage or physical damage unrelated to our workmanship.
Consumer rights: nothing in this guarantee is intended to remove or reduce any rights or remedies that a consumer has under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable South African law.
08

Existing & Unrelated Faults

Appliances and equipment may contain multiple independent components. Repairing one diagnosed fault does not guarantee that another component will not fail later.

We are responsible for the repair work we have authorised and performed, subject to applicable law and the specific repair guarantee. We are not responsible for pre-existing or unrelated defects that were not caused by our work.

09

Technician Safety

We may postpone or decline work where the site, appliance or surrounding conditions present an unreasonable health or safety risk to our technician or customer.

This may include unsafe electrical conditions, hazardous materials, inaccessible equipment, aggressive animals, structurally unsafe areas or other conditions that prevent the repair from being carried out safely.

10

Cancellation & Rescheduling

Customers should notify us as soon as reasonably possible if an appointment needs to be cancelled or rescheduled.

Where permitted by law, a reasonable cancellation charge may apply if costs have already been incurred, special parts have been ordered or a technician has already been dispatched. Any applicable charge will be considered in accordance with the circumstances and applicable consumer law.

11

Liability

We take reasonable care when handling customer property and performing repairs.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, EZ Appliances Repairs is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from circumstances outside the reasonable scope of the agreed repair.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that may not legally be excluded, restricted or waived under South African law.
12

Website & Privacy

Information on this website is provided for general service and informational purposes. We may update service descriptions, availability, pricing information or these Terms from time to time.

Personal information submitted through our website, forms, telephone enquiries, WhatsApp or email is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable South African privacy law.

13

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

Any dispute will be dealt with through the courts, tribunals, consumer bodies or other dispute-resolution processes having lawful jurisdiction in South Africa, subject to any rights available to the consumer under applicable legislation.

14

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions when our services, business practices or legal requirements change.

The version published on this website will apply from its stated effective date, subject to any terms already agreed for an existing repair.
